Understanding the Qur'an - Adults - FALL

The Qur'an has been interpreted countless times over the centuries. But how often has the translation or interpretation stayed true to the original language? This course helps peel back the many sticky layers of understanding influenced by culture, language barriers, and other complications that have resulted in widespread confusion about this very special text. This course takes place in English and students do not need a background in Arabic to participate in and benefit from this course. We also offer an Arabic-immersive class featuring the same content and approach.

As we carefully examine the original Arabic meanings of the Qur’anic verses, we can see a clear and timeless message that is easily translated to life in America today.
